Professional Experience Requirement Lifted for Technical Pharmacists in New Enterprises

Algeria’s Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Wassim Quidri, announced new measures to ease procedures for investors in the pharmaceutical sector. Speaking during a working visit to El Tarf Province, he revealed that recent regulatory adjustments were introduced regarding the accreditation process for establishing new pharmaceutical manufacturing companies.

Under the updated framework, the validity period for preliminary accreditation has been extended from one year to two years, giving investors sufficient time to complete the administrative steps required to open their enterprises. Quidri further highlighted a key change: the cancellation of the professional experience requirement previously imposed on technical pharmacists when creating new pharmaceutical institutions.

According to the minister, this reform will open new employment opportunities for fresh graduates in pharmacy and alleviate the difficulties faced by investors in securing qualified technical pharmacists. The measure is expected to encourage broader participation in the sector while accelerating the establishment of new pharmaceutical companies.
