Ooredoo Group and the GSMA have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to establish Ooredoo as the strategic connectivity partner for the upcoming MWC25 Doha, the new Middle East destination for the global telecommunications sector.

On this occasion, Ooredoo’s Chief Legal, Regulatory, and Governance Officer stated that hosting the Mobile World Congress in Doha is a milestone for the region and that Ooredoo is proud to be part of this achievement. He emphasized that as Ooredoo evolves from a traditional telecom operator into a leading digital infrastructure provider, the event offers a unique platform to showcase the region’s growing role in driving a new era of digital progress.

GSMA Ltd. CEO John Hoffman praised Ooredoo as a Qatari success story and a global pioneer, noting its early leadership in artificial intelligence and 5G networks, as well as its continued commitment to innovation and investment. He affirmed that these qualities make Ooredoo the ideal strategic partner for MWC Doha, which will bring the global ecosystem to Qatar for the first time.

Headquartered in Doha, Ooredoo is Qatar’s leading telecom provider and a key player across multiple markets. The group continues its transformation into a digital infrastructure leader by investing in advanced telecommunications technologies, subsea cables, data centers, cloud systems, and fintech platforms.

Alongside its role as a strategic connectivity partner, Ooredoo will also exhibit at MWC Doha, presenting its leadership in next-generation communications and innovation.

MWC25 Doha will take place on November 25–26, 2025, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), in partnership with Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The event will host policymakers, innovators, and investors from over 60 countries, with more than 40% of participants holding senior leadership positions.

The program will highlight key themes shaping technology and business sectors, including artificial intelligence as a driver of development, smart economies, and interconnected industries. It will also feature the first regional edition of the 4YFN startup platform, the GSMA Ministerial Program, the GSMA Digital Leaders Program, and the Smart Cities Expo, a leading global platform for urban innovation.
