Touggourt – Renovation works have been launched on the 10,000-seat football stadium in Touggourt, as part of the province’s ongoing efforts to modernize and upgrade sports and youth infrastructure, according to local authorities on Thursday.
The project, funded through a public investment of nearly 30 million dinars, includes laying a new-generation artificial turf pitch, repairing and refurbishing the stands, rehabilitating changing rooms, strengthening lighting and safety equipment, as well as upgrading various essential facilities such as the medical unit, media areas, and spectator sections.
During his supervision of the opening of the works, the province’s chief executive officer, Othmane Abdelaziz, emphasized the importance of completing the project within the contractual deadlines while adhering strictly to technical and quality standards. He stressed that the rehabilitation of this important sporting infrastructure falls within the broader development program aimed at promoting youth and sports activities in the province, giving a strong boost to local football, and providing improved conditions for clubs and sports associations.
