Algeria’s Independent National Authority for Elections (ANIE) has announced the opening of the periodic review of electoral rolls, set to begin on October 20, 2025, and conclude on November 18, 2025. This review period is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the voter registry ahead of future elections.
According to an official statement, Algerian citizens who are not currently registered to vote and who will have reached the age of 18 by December 31, 2025, and who meet all other legal requirements, are encouraged to apply for registration on the electoral list in their municipality of residence. This is a vital opportunity for young adults to exercise their right to participate in the democratic process.
Furthermore, registered voters who have changed their place of residence are required to re-register on the electoral list in their new municipality. This ensures that voter information is up-to-date and that individuals are registered in the correct voting district. The ANIE emphasizes the importance of accurate residential information for fair and efficient elections.
For registered voters who have changed their address within the same municipality or who have identified errors in their personal information on the electoral list, the ANIE has established a process for updating their records. Individuals can visit the municipal delegation of the Independent Authority for Elections in their area of residence to submit a request for correction or update, accompanied by proof of identity and proof of residence. These applications can be submitted between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM on weekdays, excluding Fridays and Saturdays.
To further streamline the process, the ANIE has provided an online platform where citizens can check their registration status, submit registration requests, request deletion from the list, or update their personal information. This online service is accessible through the following link: https://services.ina-elections.dz/. This digital option offers a convenient alternative for those unable to visit the municipal delegation in person.
Algerian citizens residing abroad are also encouraged to register to vote. They should contact their nearest Algerian diplomatic or consular mission to apply for registration on the electoral lists, following the same procedures as those in Algeria. The ANIE is committed to ensuring that all eligible Algerian citizens, both at home and abroad, have the opportunity to participate in the electoral process. This periodic review of electoral rolls is a critical step in maintaining the integrity and transparency of Algeria’s elections, ensuring that every eligible citizen has their voice heard. The ANIE urges all eligible citizens to take advantage of this opportunity to register or update their information on the electoral lists.
