Algiers, Algeria – USM Alger has secured its place in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup following a decisive victory on Saturday. The Algerian side defeated Académie Amadou Diallo of Ivory Coast with a score of 3-0.

The match, held at a packed stadium, saw USM Alger dominate from the outset. Houssam Eddine Ghacha opened the scoring in the 13th minute of the first half, giving the home side an early advantage. Ibrahim Ben Zaza then doubled the lead in the 28th minute with a powerful, low shot that found the back of the net.

USM Alger continued to press in the second half, maintaining control of the game. Their dominance was rewarded in added time when Ghacha scored his second goal of the match in the 93rd minute, sealing the victory and confirming USM Alger’s progression to the next round.

The win means that Algeria will be represented by two teams in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage. CR Belouizdad qualified on Friday after their victory against Hafia Conakry of Guinea. This marks a significant achievement for Algerian football, showcasing the growing strength and competitiveness of its clubs on the continental stage.

USM Alger will now look forward to the draw for the group stage, where they will face other top teams from across Africa. The club and its supporters are hopeful that they can build on this success and make a strong push for the title.
