Tlemcen, Algeria – Construction has commenced on a new seawater desalination plant at Ain Adjroud beach in the municipality of Marsa Ben M’Hidi, Tlemcen province. The project was officially launched on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the CEO of Sonatrach Group, Noureddine Daoudi, and the CEO of Algerian Water Desalination Company, Lahcen Bada, along with local authorities from the Tlemcen region. The launch marks a significant step forward in Algeria’s efforts to enhance its water security and reduce reliance on traditional water sources.
