Petkovic Announces Squad: Bounedjah Out, New Faces Called Up

DZWatch Exclusive: National Team Coach Vladimir Petkovic today announced his squad for the upcoming matches against Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia. The roster revealed several notable changes, including the omission of Youcef Belaïli and the return of midfielder Ramiz Zerrouki, who plays for FC Twente in the Netherlands.

In a surprising move, Petkovic has also called up two new players, Benkara and Titraoui, for the first time. Both players will participate in the November training camp, offering Petkovic an opportunity to assess their potential within the national team setup.

During his press conference, Petkovic elaborated on the inclusion of the new faces. “Benkara and Titraoui are young players, and they are new to our list,” he stated. He emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for emerging talent to integrate into the squad.

“I will give Benkara the opportunity to experience and explore the atmosphere of the national team, and I want to see him up close on the field,” Petkovic added, highlighting his intention to evaluate the player’s capabilities in a competitive environment. The coach is seemingly looking to inject fresh blood into the squad as they prepare for crucial upcoming fixtures.

The full squad list will be published on DZWatch shortly.
