Ouaidèche Resigns as Head of National Magistrates Syndicate

Algiers, Algeria – A special meeting of the executive bureau of the National Magistrates Syndicate was held today, Saturday, at the Judges’ Residence in Algiers. The meeting, convened in accordance with Article 57 of the syndicate’s bylaws, focused on the resignation request submitted by Ouaidèche Ouaidèche from his position as president of the National Magistrates Syndicate.

Following deliberation among the executive bureau members, it was decided to accept the lodging of the president’s resignation. The resignation will be presented for ratification during the upcoming extraordinary general assembly. The date of this assembly will be determined later, adhering to the provisions of Article 34 of the syndicate’s bylaws.

In the interim, Hichem Desdous, the first vice-president of the syndicate, has assumed the responsibilities of managing the syndicate’s affairs on a temporary basis. This transition is in accordance with Article 56 of the same bylaws, and will continue until the extraordinary general assembly convenes.

The meeting concluded with a resolution to initiate preparatory procedures for holding the general assembly. This aims to ensure the continuity of the syndicate’s activities while respecting all applicable laws and regulations. The Syndicate leadership affirmed its commitment to a smooth transition and continued advocacy for the rights and interests of Algerian magistrates.
