Algiers, Algeria – Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, held discussions with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Algeria, Jean-Jacques Queria, focusing on strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting centered on exploring avenues to enhance trade exchanges and broaden bilateral partnerships to serve the mutual interests of both Algeria and Belgium. Key areas of discussion included facilitating increased investment and identifying new opportunities for collaboration across various sectors.
Minister Rezig emphasized the importance of activating the Algerian-Belgian Business Council, viewing it as a practical tool to support economic partnerships between operators from both countries. He called for the organization of Algerian product exhibitions in Belgium and Belgian product exhibitions in Algeria, aiming to showcase production capabilities and promote available cooperation opportunities. “Such initiatives are crucial for fostering greater understanding and driving bilateral trade,” the Minister stated.
The Minister underscored Algeria’s commitment to developing its economic relations with Belgium, describing the country as a strategic partner. He highlighted Algeria’s ambition to diversify its export portfolio and attract foreign investment to support its economic growth objectives.
Ambassador Queria expressed Belgium’s desire to expand economic cooperation, aiming to achieve mutual benefit and serve the shared interests of both parties. He affirmed Belgium’s commitment to supporting Algeria’s economic development efforts and exploring new areas of collaboration in sectors such as renewable energy, technology, and infrastructure.
