The CEO of the Port Services Group (SARPIPOR), Hajjaj Riad, conducted a working visit and inspection last week to the port institutions of Annaba and Djen Djen. This initiative follows directives from the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Saioud, concerning the monitoring and development of port activities.
During the visits, the management of both ports presented detailed overviews highlighting their capabilities and commercial activities. The presentations also covered significant completed projects and those currently underway. A key focus was on the modern information systems implemented to digitize port operations and enhance the efficiency of services.
Hajjaj Riad undertook field tours encompassing various port facilities to assess operational progress and examine completed and ongoing projects. He emphasized the importance of infrastructure development and enhanced digitization to ensure improved performance and streamlined port operations.
“The development of infrastructure is key to the future,” Hajjaj Riad stated during the visit. “We must leverage the power of technology to improve the efficiency of our ports.”
These visits underscore the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport’s commitment to monitoring port operations and adapting to evolving trends. The goal is to provide superior services within the maritime transport and trade sector. Enhanced efficiency and modernization are critical to the future of Algeria’s ports. The SARPIPOR group plays a vital role in implementing these changes.
The digitization efforts are expected to significantly reduce processing times and improve overall port competitiveness. The ongoing projects are intended to increase capacity and modernize existing infrastructure, making Algerian ports more attractive to international trade partners.
