The Minister of Health, Professor Mohamed Sidik Ait Messoudene, is today undertaking a working visit to the province of Blida, where he will officially launch the “Blue November” campaign dedicated to early detection of prostate cancer.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health, this visit is part of national efforts aimed at establishing a culture of prevention and early diagnosis of cancer, in coordination with the National Committee for the Prevention and Control of Cancer.
The launch ceremony will be held at the Cancer Control Center in Blida, where the Minister will give the official signal for the start of the national caravan for the awareness campaign on prostate cancer, aimed at citizens.
This initiative falls within the national programs for the prevention of non-communicable diseases and aims to encourage citizens to undergo regular medical examinations to maintain their health and safety. Early detection is crucial in the fight against prostate cancer. The “Blue November” campaign seeks to raise awareness about the importance of screening and encourage men to prioritize their health.
The campaign will feature educational materials and outreach programs designed to inform the public about the risk factors, symptoms, and available screening methods for prostate cancer. The Ministry of Health emphasizes the importance of proactive healthcare and encourages all eligible individuals to participate in the screening programs offered during “Blue November.”
The Minister’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to improving cancer care and promoting preventative health measures across the country. This initiative hopes to significantly improve early detection rates and ultimately reduce the impact of prostate cancer on the Algerian population.
