Algeria, Egypt Explore Enhanced Economic Cooperation

Algiers, November 10, 2025 – The Director-General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) met with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Algeria today to discuss avenues for strengthening economic cooperation and investment between the two nations.

Omar Rekkache, Director-General of AAPI, received Ambassador Abdel Latif Abdel Salam Abdo Ellayeh in Algiers, where they engaged in discussions centered on bolstering partnerships and collaboration in the investment sector. The meeting underscored a mutual desire to foster closer economic ties between Algeria and Egypt.

According to a statement released by AAPI, the discussions also focused on preparations for joint economic events designed to promote partnerships between Algerian and Egyptian companies. These events are envisioned as platforms for facilitating business-to-business connections and exploring potential investment opportunities across various sectors.

“This meeting reflects the commitment of both Algeria and Egypt to deepen their economic relationship,” a source within AAPI stated. “By identifying and promoting investment opportunities, we aim to create a mutually beneficial environment for businesses in both countries.”

The focus on investment promotion aligns with Algeria’s broader efforts to diversify its economy and attract foreign direct investment. Egypt, similarly, is actively seeking to expand its economic partnerships across the African continent.

Further details regarding the planned joint economic events are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The collaboration between AAPI and the Egyptian Embassy signals a renewed push to unlock the full potential of the economic partnership between Algeria and Egypt.
