Luanda, Angola – Azouz Nasseri, President of the Algerian Council of the Nation (Senate), met with Brahim Ghali, President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), in Luanda, Angola, on Monday evening. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the latest developments regarding the Western Sahara issue.
The discussions, held in the Angolan capital, centered on the ongoing political situation and the pursuit of a just and lasting resolution to the conflict. The two leaders exchanged views on regional dynamics and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.
The meeting was attended by Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, the Sahrawi Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as Mounir Bourouba, the Algerian Ambassador to Angola. Also present was Makhlouf Sahel, the Chief of Staff of the President of the Council of the Nation.
The presence of high-ranking officials from both sides underscores the importance Algeria places on the Sahrawi issue and its dedication to fostering dialogue and peaceful solutions. Algeria has long maintained a consistent stance in support of the Sahrawi people and their right to decide their own future.
This meeting reflects Algeria’s continued diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting stability and resolving conflicts within the region. The exchange between President Nasseri and President Ghali reinforces the close ties and shared interests between Algeria and the SADR.
