Algeria and Jordan Explore Enhanced Pharmaceutical Collaboration

Algiers, November 11, 2025 – Algeria is seeking to deepen its collaboration with Jordan in the pharmaceutical sector. Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Wassim Kouideri, met with the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Algeria, Ahed Sweidat, in Algiers on Tuesday to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of medicine and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The meeting, held at the Ministry headquarters, provided an opportunity to review potential areas of collaboration and partnership between the two nations in pharmaceutical production, according to a statement released by the Ministry. Discussions centered on leveraging Jordan’s expertise and capabilities in the manufacturing of medical supplies.

Algeria reiterated its interest in developing partnerships specifically focused on the production of medical equipment and supplies. This reflects a strategic priority to bolster domestic manufacturing capacity and enhance the availability of essential medical resources within Algeria. The Minister emphasized the importance of knowledge transfer and joint ventures to achieve these goals.

Both parties expressed optimism about the prospects for increased cooperation and committed to exploring concrete initiatives to facilitate collaboration between Algerian and Jordanian pharmaceutical companies. Further discussions are planned to identify specific projects and initiatives that can deliver mutual benefits and contribute to the growth of the pharmaceutical industries in both countries.
