Algiers, November 13, 2025 – The Algiers Police Department has issued a public appeal for information regarding an individual suspected of impersonating a public sector employee to commit theft.
The suspect, identified as “A.A.,” is believed to have falsely presented himself as a worker from a public institution to defraud unsuspecting victims of their money. Authorities are urging anyone who may have been targeted by this individual to come forward and report the incident.
“We are asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim of Mr. A.A.’s alleged scheme to contact us immediately,” stated a spokesperson for the Algiers Police Department. “Your information, no matter how small it may seem, could be crucial to our investigation and in bringing this individual to justice.”
Specifically, authorities are requesting potential victims to visit the Second Urban Security Division of Casbah Lower, located within the Bab El Oued administrative district. Alternatively, individuals can file a complaint or provide testimony at any police station throughout the country.
