Egypt Edges Algeria in Thrilling Friendly Encounter

Cairo, Egypt – In a captivating friendly match filled with dramatic twists and turns, the Egyptian national team secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Algeria. The match, held as both teams prepare for the upcoming Arab Cup in Qatar next month, saw Egypt twice come from behind to claim the win.

Algeria drew first blood in the 31st minute courtesy of Adel Boulbina, who showcased individual brilliance by weaving through the Egyptian defense before unleashing a powerful shot that beat goalkeeper Ali Lotfi. However, Egypt responded swiftly, leveling the score in the 40th minute. A cross from Mohamed Sherif caused confusion in the Algerian defense, ultimately resulting in an own goal by Imadeddine Azzi under pressure from Islam Issa.

The second half continued with the same intensity. Algeria regained the lead in the 66th minute through Nassim El Ghoul, who capitalized on a rebound from substitute goalkeeper Mohamed Bassam.

The final ten minutes witnessed a complete turnaround. In the 81st minute, Ragab Nabil equalized for Egypt, heading home a precise cross from Mohamed Elneny, injecting renewed energy into the ‘Pharaohs’. Then, with the clock ticking down, substitute Hossam Hassan sealed the victory in the 89th minute, latching onto a sublime pass from Akram Tawfik to secure a 3-2 win for Egypt.
