Qatari Referees to Officiate Algeria-Saudi Arabia Friendly

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – A Qatari refereeing crew has been appointed to oversee the friendly match between Algeria and Saudi Arabia, scheduled for Tuesday, November 18th, at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, known as the ‘Jewel’ stadium, in Jeddah.

The international referee, Abdulhadi Al Ruwaili, will lead the officiating team. He will be assisted by Jumaa Al Burshaid as the first assistant referee and Zahi Al Shammari as the second assistant referee. Mohammed Ahmed Al Sharif will serve as the fourth official.

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) team will be headed by Abdulrahman Al Jassim, with Mishari Al Shammari assisting him.

This friendly match holds significant importance for both teams as part of their major preparations. The Saudi Arabian national team is gearing up for the eleventh edition of the Arab Cup, set to take place in Qatar from December 1st to 18th. Meanwhile, the Algerian national team continues its preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco, commencing on December 21st.

Furthermore, this encounter serves as joint preparation for both nations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Both Algeria and Saudi Arabia have already secured their places in the tournament, joining five other Arab nations, with the potential for more to qualify should Iraq and the UAE succeed in the Asian play-offs.
