Al Arbaa police have successfully dismantled a criminal network involved in drug trafficking and the production of counterfeit currency. The operation, conducted by the judicial police of the Al Arbaa security directorate, resulted in the arrest of two individuals aged between 30 and 33.
The arrests are part of ongoing efforts to combat crime in all its forms, with a particular focus on the illegal trade of narcotics and psychotropic substances. Authorities received information indicating that one of the suspects was using his residence to conceal and distribute drugs and controlled substances.
Following coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Al Arbaa Court, a search warrant was issued for the suspect’s home. The search yielded significant findings, including counterfeit Algerian dinar banknotes in 1,000 DA denominations, totaling 134,000 DA. Additionally, police seized 117,500 DA in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
Furthermore, authorities confiscated 916 tablets of various types of psychotropic substances, 43.9 grams of cannabis, and eight sharp blades used for cutting drugs. The seized items are crucial evidence in the case against the suspects.
Following the completion of the judicial investigation, the two suspects were presented before the Public Prosecutor at the Al Arbaa Court. They face charges of forming a criminal network specializing in counterfeiting national currency and trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances. Legal proceedings are now underway.
This operation underscores the commitment of Al Arbaa security forces to combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of the community.
