The EU lifts restrictions on Ukrainian grain exports to Eastern European countries

dzwatch

The European Commission has decided to lift the restrictions imposed in April on the export of grain, maize, rapeseed and sunflower seeds from Ukraine to Bulgaria, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. The restrictions were due to expire on September 15.

The measures limited the entry of these goods into the five Eastern European countries to transit purposes. The countries had requested an extension of the restrictions until the end of the year.

In exchange for the lifting of the restrictions, Ukraine has agreed to adopt a plan of action to prevent any market distortions in neighboring member states.
