Algerian President Tebboune Arrives in New York for UN General Assembly

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune arrived in New York on Monday to participate in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

President Tebboune was greeted at JFK International Airport by a delegation of Algerian officials, including Prime Minister Ayman Benabderrahmane, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army General Said Chengriha, and Presidential Chief of Staff Mohamed Nadjib Arabavi.

The President’s visit comes as Algeria continues to play a leading role in the international community. In recent years, Algeria has worked to promote peace and security in the region, and has also been a strong advocate for multilateralism.

During his time in New York, President Tebboune is expected to meet with other world leaders to discuss a range of issues, including the war in Ukraine, the COVID-19 pandemic, and climate change.

The President’s visit is a sign of Algeria’s commitment to the United Nations and its global leadership
