Algiers – An inter-ministerial task force has been officially inaugurated to prepare for the 7th edition of the International Desert Tourism Festival. The announcement was made in a statement released by the Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Industry on Tuesday.
The Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industry, Ms. Houria Meddahi, presided over the installation ceremony of the task force, underscoring the government’s commitment to promoting desert tourism as a key sector for economic diversification.
The International Desert Tourism Festival is a significant event aimed at showcasing the unique cultural heritage and natural beauty of the Algerian Sahara. It seeks to attract both domestic and international tourists, fostering sustainable tourism development and creating opportunities for local communities.
The newly formed task force comprises representatives from various ministries and relevant stakeholders. Their responsibilities include coordinating logistics, developing promotional strategies, ensuring security, and enhancing the overall visitor experience.
