Tipaza, Algeria – Minister of Environment and Quality of Life, Kawther Krikou, today inaugurated a nationwide technical campaign focused on safeguarding Algeria’s plant life and animal resources. The launch took place in the highlands of Hadjret Ennous forest in Tipaza, an area recently impacted by wildfires.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Environment and Quality of Life, aims to rehabilitate and restore the vegetative cover in fire-affected zones, as well as to promote the conservation of biodiversity. The campaign will employ a range of technical strategies, including reforestation efforts, soil stabilization techniques, and the implementation of protective measures against future environmental threats.

Speaking at the launch event, Minister Krikou emphasized the critical importance of protecting Algeria’s natural heritage. “This campaign reflects our unwavering commitment to preserving our environment for future generations,” she stated. “It is imperative that we take proactive steps to mitigate the impact of environmental damage and ensure the long-term health and resilience of our ecosystems.”

The nationwide campaign will involve collaboration between various government agencies, local communities, and environmental organizations. Specific projects will be tailored to the unique needs of each region, taking into account local ecological conditions and community priorities. The Ministry of Environment and Quality of Life is committed to providing the necessary resources and technical expertise to ensure the success of this vital initiative.

The campaign’s launch in Tipaza, a region particularly vulnerable to wildfires, underscores the urgency of addressing environmental challenges and the importance of proactive conservation efforts. The Ministry hopes that this initiative will serve as a model for other regions facing similar challenges and will inspire greater awareness and action on environmental protection across the country.
