Water Distribution Disrupted in Several Algiers Municipalities

Algiers, November 18, 2025 – Water distribution is facing disruptions in several municipalities within the capital city, according to an announcement made today by the Algiers Water and Sanitation Company (SEAAL).

The company reported a significant leak in a primary water distribution pipe, measuring 300mm in diameter, located on Krim Belkacem Street in the municipality of Algiers Centre. This incident is necessitating urgent repair work, which is expected to cause fluctuations in water supply across several areas.

The affected municipalities and neighborhoods include:

  • Belouizdad: Mohamed Douar, Tahar Adlane, and Mahmoud Rouni areas.
  • Sidi M’Hamed: Martyrs Street, Didouche Mourad Street, Trollers Quarter, Ghermoul, Mohamed Touimer, Hussein Beladjal, and Youssef Bouchakour Street.
  • Algiers Centre: Krim Belkacem Street, Bernav Quarter, El Mesbiline Quarter, Mohamed V Street, Mokhtar Abdelatif, the Berzouane Brothers area, and Sacré-Coeur.

SEAAL has assured residents that efforts are underway to expedite the repair process. The company anticipates a gradual return to the normal water distribution schedule starting Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions during this period of disruption.
