Putin: Russian-Chinese Cooperation Not Directed Against Anyone

Moscow, Russia – President Vladimir Putin stated today that relations between Russia and China are at an all-time high, emphasizing that their cooperation is not targeted against any third party.

During a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Putin highlighted the comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction between the two nations, noting it has entered a new era. He characterized these relations as being built on principles of equality, mutual benefit, and reciprocal support on issues concerning the core interests of both countries. Putin reiterated that this partnership is “not directed against any other state.”

The Russian President believes that the close cooperation between Russia and China contributes to the emergence of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) as a key pillar of a multipolar world order. He emphasized its role in engaging countries of the Global South and shaping an open and non-discriminatory international trading system.

Earlier today, Putin affirmed Russia’s commitment to ensuring reliable energy supplies to consumers, despite what he described as “external attempts to negatively influence supply chains.” He further pointed out that cooperation within the SCO extends beyond economics, playing a crucial role in enhancing peace and stability across the Eurasian region.

The strengthening ties between Moscow and Beijing continue to be closely watched by international observers, particularly in light of the evolving geopolitical landscape.
