During his official visit to China, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune gave an exclusive interview to China Media Group (CMG).

Tebboune said that Algeria and China have similar histories and that both countries have started from scratch. “We have a history of colonization of 130 years, but friendly countries, including China, have helped Algeria to embark on the path of development and have contributed to the achievement of national independence.”

This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Algeria. During this time, China was the first non-Arab country to recognize Algeria, the first Chinese overseas medical team was sent to Algeria, and Algeria was the first Arab country to establish a strategic partnership with China.

“We hope that through bilateral cooperation, we will cover areas such as education, medicine, vocational training, etc. We want to develop partnerships with China in all areas,” the Algerian president stressed.
