Spanish Interior Minister Visits Algeria for Bilateral Talks

Algiers, October 20, 2025 – Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska arrived in Algiers today for a working visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation. The visit underscores the ongoing cooperation between Algeria and Spain on matters of mutual interest.

Upon arrival at Houari Boumediene Airport, Minister Grande-Marlaska was greeted by Algerian Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation, Said Saayoud. Also present at the welcoming ceremony were the Governor of Algiers, Abdelnour Rabehi, the Director-General of National Security, Ali Badaoui, and the Director-General of Civil Protection, Colonel Boualem Boughelag, along with other senior officials from the Ministry of Interior.

The Spanish Ambassador to Algeria, Fernando Moran, also attended the reception, further highlighting the diplomatic importance of this visit.

The agenda for Minister Grande-Marlaska’s visit is expected to include discussions on a range of critical issues, including security cooperation, counter-terrorism efforts, and migration management.
