Rainfall Expected Across Central and Eastern Algeria

Several provinces in central and eastern Algeria are bracing for rainfall starting this Thursday, according to a special weather bulletin issued by the National Meteorological Office. The advisory, categorized as ‘Orange’ level, warns of potentially heavy precipitation, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms and localized hail.

The affected regions in the center of the country include Tipaza, Algiers, Blida, Bouira, and the northern parts of Medea. Rainfall amounts are expected to range between 30 and 40 millimeters, with the possibility of exceeding 50 millimeters in some areas. The alert is in effect from 6:00 PM this Thursday until 6:00 AM next Saturday.

In eastern Algeria, the provinces of Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, El Tarf, and the northern parts of Setif are also anticipating significant rainfall. Expected accumulations range from 40 to 50 millimeters, with the potential to reach or surpass 70 millimeters locally. Strong winds are also expected in these areas. This portion of the weather alert remains valid from 6:00 PM Thursday until at least 12:00 PM on Saturday.
