Gaza: Dozens Killed in Israeli Strikes Amid Ceasefire Claims

Gaza City – At least 28 Palestinians, including 17 children and women, have been killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas in the Gaza Strip since Wednesday morning. Over 77 others have been reported injured. The strikes occurred in neighborhoods within Gaza City and Khan Younis, despite ongoing claims of a ceasefire agreement.

Medical sources at the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital (Baptist Hospital) reported that six Palestinians were killed and several others, including women and children, were wounded in an airstrike targeting a building housing displaced persons in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City. Nasser Medical Complex reported the deaths of seven Palestinians following an Israeli drone strike on tents housing displaced individuals in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis.

Reports indicate heavy artillery shelling and airstrikes targeting areas beyond the ‘yellow line’ in Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis.

The Israeli military claims it initiated attacks on Hamas targets throughout the Gaza Strip in response to attacks on its forces in the Khan Younis area. Israeli military radio, citing security sources, reported that the Air Force targeted a meeting of Hamas leaders in the Zeitoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City. The source alleged that the targeted individuals included the commander of the Zeitoun Battalion, the deputy regional commander, and the head of the naval unit within the Al-Qassam Brigades.

Haaretz newspaper quoted security establishment sources stating that the “results of the attack in Gaza are still unclear.” The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that American leadership was informed about the Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip.

Separately, families of missing persons in the Gaza Strip organized a protest in front of Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, demanding that Israeli authorities reveal the fate of their relatives.
