New York, September 22, 2023 – Samuel Warburg, a spokesman for the United States Department of State, said that the United States supports Algeria’s bid to join the UN Security Council.
In a statement to the media delegation to New York, Warburg expressed his country’s welcome for Algeria’s participation in the Security Council and in various international institutions, organizations, and committees.
Warburg noted that the United States agrees with Algeria on the importance of pursuing a diplomatic and peaceful path to resolving conflicts.
The spokesman also praised Algeria’s important role in promoting security and stability in the region, commending Algeria’s efforts to resolve the Niger crisis
