The Regional Group of the National Gendarmerie in Algiers, named after Martyr “Aberkane Kamal,” has announced the opening of recruitment for young Algerians seeking to join its ranks as contracted sergeants. This initiative offers a valuable opportunity for those interested in serving their country.
This announcement follows the extension of the exceptional authorization to lower the required academic level for recruitment into this category. Applicants with a fourth-year middle school (Brevet) level of education are now eligible to apply. Priority will be given to candidates holding vocational training certificates.
This extension is valid for one academic year only. To be eligible, candidates must be of Algerian nationality, possess good physical fitness, be single, accept training, have a minimum height of 1.70 meters, and be between 18 and 22 years old as of December 31st of the current year.
Applicants must submit an initial application file containing: proof of educational level (fourth year of middle school or higher, exceptionally), birth certificate (number 12), a copy of the school certificate, a recent photograph, a copy of the national identity card, and a proof of residence.
Training lasts for six months and takes place in the National Gendarmerie training centers located in Ain M’lila (Oum El Bouaghi), Touggourt (Ouargla), Jijel, Hounaine Bourezg (Naama), and M’Sila.
