Algiers, November 21, 2025 – Algeria and Tunisia are deepening their collaboration in vocational training, officials announced today. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the current Skills Olympics being held in Algiers from November 17-21.
The Algerian Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Nessima Erhab, welcomed her Tunisian counterpart, Riad Choued, to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two nations. According to a statement released by the Tunisian delegation, the discussions focused on the current state and future prospects for joint initiatives in vocational training, instructor training, and training program development.
Key outcomes of the meeting included the establishment of a joint technical committee. This committee will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating an annual action plan designed to achieve specific cooperation goals. Further steps include finalizing a twinning agreement between the Tunisian National Center for Instructor Training and Training Program Development and the Algerian National Center for Distance Vocational Training and Education.
The two ministers also agreed to explore the feasibility of establishing a joint vocational training institution or academy in a border region. This initiative aims to provide accessible training opportunities for young people in both countries. Furthermore, plans are underway to develop a joint program to leverage Tunisia’s expertise in supplementary training.
Algeria will share its experience in mobile training units, providing training opportunities through exchange programs for young people from both nations. This collaborative effort signifies a commitment to enhancing vocational skills and promoting economic development in the region.
