Beirut, Lebanon – The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced today that 1,276 individuals have lost their lives as a result of actions attributed to Israel within the past year. The casualties have occurred since the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in November 2024.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, the total number of fatalities recorded between November 28, 2024, and November 19 of this year stands at 331, with an additional 945 individuals wounded.
The ceasefire agreement, which came into effect on November 27 of last year, stipulated the withdrawal of Israeli forces from villages and towns along the southern Lebanese border within a 60-day timeframe. The Beirut government subsequently agreed to extend this deadline until February 18. However, Israeli forces reportedly remained stationed in five locations.
Furthermore, it is alleged that over 10,000 breaches of the ceasefire, both aerial and ground-based, have been documented within the area of operations of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) since last November. The situation remains tense, and further developments are anticipated.
