The Arab League has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian people, characterizing it as a matter of principle, ethics, and political conviction. This declaration underscores the organization’s commitment to the Palestinian cause amidst ongoing regional challenges.
In a statement released today, the Arab League highlighted the powerful message conveyed by the recent meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC), the international donor group for Palestine. The League emphasized that the international community will not stand idly by in the face of actions aimed at stifling the Palestinian economy and depriving the government of its legitimate resources.
The statement was delivered by Ambassador Dr. Fayed Mustafa, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League and Head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector, during the AHLC meetings held in Brussels. The meetings were conducted at both senior official and ministerial levels.
“Providing urgent support to Palestine in these circumstances is not only a humanitarian duty but also an investment in regional stability and a deepening of the prospects for peace,” Dr. Mustafa stated. He stressed that these prospects cannot be realized if measures to subjugate the Palestinians and exert political and economic pressure on them continue.
The Arab League’s reiteration of support comes at a crucial time, as the Palestinian territories face numerous economic and political hurdles. The organization’s firm stance signals a continued commitment to advocating for Palestinian rights and promoting a just and lasting resolution to the conflict.
