Gaza Strip – Hamas has issued a statement today, accusing the Israeli military of flagrantly violating the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. The organization claims that recent expansion of Israeli control within the region constitutes a direct breach of the established terms.
Hamas is calling on mediators and the U.S. administration to urgently intervene and address what they describe as attempts by Tel Aviv to undermine the ceasefire process in the Gaza Strip. In its statement, Hamas asserts that the continued advancement of Israeli forces into areas previously withdrawn from, coupled with ongoing displacement and aerial bombardment, represents a serious violation of the agreement that came into effect on October 10th.
The statement further details that these alleged violations have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians, with ongoing casualties reported under various pretexts. Hamas also contends that the Israeli actions have led to unauthorized changes in the agreed-upon withdrawal lines, deviating from the established maps.
Reports from Palestinian civil defense indicate that Israeli forces advanced approximately 250 meters into previously withdrawn areas east of Gaza City on Friday, causing the displacement of hundreds of families to areas lacking basic necessities.
Hamas reiterated its rejection of any attempts by the Israeli government to impose a “new reality” that contradicts the agreed-upon terms. The organization urged mediators to take immediate action and exert pressure to halt these violations. Furthermore, Hamas called on the U.S. administration to uphold its commitments and compel Israel to fulfill its obligations, thereby preventing any further undermining of the ceasefire process in Gaza.
