Johannesburg, South Africa – Algeria has called upon the Group of Twenty (G20) nations to initiate a “general mobilization” aimed at fostering a better future for the Palestinian people. The appeal comes in the wake of the protracted conflict in the region.
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune conveyed this message in a letter addressed to participants of the G20 summit currently being held in Johannesburg. The letter was delivered by Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib.
In his address, President Tebboune emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that the world has witnessed nearly two years of violence perpetrated against the Palestinian people and the extensive devastation caused by the conflict. “This compels us to express our hope that the G20 nations will take the lead in launching a general mobilization to build a brighter future for the Palestinian people,” the President wrote.
The Algerian President’s message underscored the need for concerted international action to address the ongoing challenges faced by Palestinians. He highlighted the importance of providing support and assistance to help rebuild communities and create sustainable opportunities for the future.
Furthermore, President Tebboune affirmed Algeria’s commitment to supporting any initiative undertaken in this regard. The President assured the G20 nations that Algeria stands ready to join hands with the international community to promote peace, stability, and prosperity for the Palestinian people.
