The Truth Behind Al-Markhiya’s Negotiations with Abdelmajid Bougara

In recent days, Al-Markhiya FC has been in talks to secure a foreign replacement for their English coach, Hudson. While it’s confirmed that the new coach will be a foreigner, not an Arab, the club is still awaiting an official agreement to terminate Hudson’s contract, as he has refused to waive his full entitlements.

Contrary to some reports, our sources indicate that Al-Markhiya has not engaged in negotiations with Abdelmajid Bougara. Instead, it is Qatar’s Al-Qatar SC that has expressed interest in him as a replacement for their Moroccan coach, Youssef Sfari.

It’s worth noting that Abdelmajid Bougara has had previous coaching success, particularly when he oversaw the Al-Duhail U23 team, leading them to two league titles in three seasons and securing the Qatar Crown Prince Cup in 2013.

In 2019, he ventured into coaching a senior team for the first time with the Emirati club, Fujairah. However, this experience ended after just one season when Fujairah finished second to last in the UAE league, leading to the amicable termination of his contract.

One of Bougara’s significant achievements came when he led the Algerian national team to victory in the 2021 Arab Cup, defeating Tunisia in the final with a convincing 2-0 scoreline. However, he couldn’t replicate that success in the 2023 African Nations Championship for local players, where Algeria lost to Senegal in a penalty shootout during the final.

In summary, Al-Markhiya FC continues its search for a foreign coach, but Abdelmajid Bougara’s name is currently linked with Al-Qatar SC. His coaching career has seen its share of ups and downs, including notable victories and challenges along the way.
