Israeli Forces Detain 11 Palestinians in West Bank Raids

Israeli forces detained eleven Palestinians, including a child, during a series of raids across the occupied West Bank early Sunday morning. The operations targeted multiple locations, according to reports.

The detentions included nine Palestinians from the Bethlehem governorate and various areas within Hebron. Israeli troops reportedly stormed homes in the city of Bethlehem, as well as the towns of Dura and al-Carmel south of Hebron, and Beit Ummar to the north. A child was among those detained after soldiers forcibly entered and searched his family’s home.

In the Nablus governorate, Israeli forces arrested two brothers during a raid on the town of Burin, south of the city. Extensive searches were conducted in residents’ homes during the operation.

Palestinians maintain that these arrests are punitive measures targeting activists, student groups, former prisoners, and public figures. They assert that the detentions aim to undermine organizational activities within the occupied West Bank.

These arrests occur amidst a broader escalation in the West Bank, fueled by actions of the Israeli military and settlers since the onset of the conflict in Gaza. According to Palestinian sources, these actions have resulted in numerous deaths, injuries, and arrests.

The Israeli military typically refrains from providing specific reasons for these daily arrests, categorizing them as ‘security operations’ targeting individuals they deem ‘wanted,’ often without formal charges.
