Cocaine and Ecstasy Seized in Major Oran Drug Bust

Oran, Algeria – Authorities in Oran have dismantled two international drug trafficking networks, seizing a significant quantity of cocaine and psychotropic pills. The operations, conducted by the Regional Service for Combatting Organized Crime (SRLCO) in western Oran, resulted in the arrest of seven individuals.

According to a statement released by national security officials, the raids yielded substantial results. Agents confiscated 1.431 kilograms of cocaine and a staggering 29,389 pregabalin pills. In addition, 6,168 ecstasy tablets were recovered.

The operations also led to the seizure of assets linked to the criminal enterprises. Four vehicles used by the networks were impounded, along with 46.6 million Algerian dinars and 7,700 euros in cash. These funds are believed to be proceeds from the illicit drug trade.

The suspects have been presented before the Public Prosecutors of the El Othmania and Flaoucen courts in Oran. This marks a significant victory in the ongoing effort to combat drug trafficking and organized crime in the region.

The successful operation highlights the commitment of Algerian law enforcement to disrupting transnational criminal networks and protecting the community from the harmful effects of illegal drugs. Investigations are ongoing to identify any further individuals or networks connected to these operations.
