Algiers, Algeria – ETUSA, the public transportation authority for Algiers and its suburbs, has announced the launch and extension of several bus routes serving the Roukhi district in the municipality of Souidania, effective Monday, November 24, 2025. The move aims to improve transportation access for residents in the area.
The new measures include the introduction of two new bus lines:
- Line 229: This route will connect the Roukhi district directly with downtown Souidania. The first departure from Roukhi is scheduled for 6:00 AM, with the last departure from downtown Souidania at 6:30 PM. The fare is set at 20 DZD, with buses running approximately every 30 minutes.
- Line 526: This line will link the Roukhi district to the 2 May station (Tafourah), passing through the Al Khadra and Ouled Fayet neighborhoods. The first bus will depart Roukhi at 6:00 AM, with the final trip leaving the 2 May station at 5:00 PM. The fare for this route is 50 DZD.
In addition to the new lines, ETUSA will also modify and extend the routes of two existing lines:
- Line 03: This route, connecting Roukhi to Chavaillé station via Souidania and Bouchaoui, will have its schedule adjusted. The first departure will remain at 6:00 AM, with the last departure from Chavaillé now scheduled for 7:00 PM. The fare remains at 30 DZD.
- Line 708: This line, which runs from Roukhi to Chavaillé station via Souidania and Dounia Park, will also see schedule adjustments. The first departure will continue at 6:00 AM, with the final departure from Chavaillé now set for 6:00 PM. The fare is 30 DZD.
