Sidi Abdellah – Mobile network operator Djezzy concluded its national innovation hackathon, “Tech Innov,” today in Sidi Abdellah. The closing ceremony was held at the conference hall of the university technology hub and was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Bedari, and the Minister of Knowledge Economy and Startups, Noureddine Ouahdou.
According to a statement released by Djezzy, this year’s hackathon, organized in partnership with the National Agency for the Valorization of Research and Development Results, falls under the framework of the 2023 partnership agreement between Djezzy and the Ministry of Higher Education. The initiative aims to encourage innovation, applied research, and technological entrepreneurship among young Algerians.
Over three days, students, researchers, and project developers worked to create digital solutions addressing key areas of digital transformation, with a particular focus on industry, immersive experiences, and social inclusion. Participants focused on developing innovative solutions to real-world problems, showcasing their technical skills and entrepreneurial spirit.
During the ceremony, the attending ministers, along with the Delegate Wali of the Sidi Abdellah administrative district and representatives from Djezzy, presented awards and grants to the winning teams. The awards recognized the quality and excellence of their projects, highlighting their potential impact on the Algerian economy and society. The hackathon served as a platform to identify and support the next generation of Algerian tech innovators.
This event underscores Djezzy’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the growth of the technology sector in Algeria. The company plans to continue its collaboration with government and academic institutions to provide opportunities for young people to develop their skills and contribute to the country’s digital transformation.
