El Bayadh, Algeria – A 33-year-old woman has been arrested in El Bayadh for allegedly posting indecent content on TikTok, DZWatch has learned. The arrest, carried out by local security services, is part of an ongoing effort to combat cybercrime and maintain public order.
According to authorities, the suspect is accused of creating an online page and disseminating videos and images deemed to be “indecent” and promoting behavior contrary to public morals. The case was initiated after the cybercrime unit identified an account that was allegedly publishing provocative material and inciting immoral acts.
Following an investigation overseen by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, law enforcement officials conducted a search of the suspect’s residence. During the operation, the woman was apprehended along with her accomplice and two other individuals.
DZWatch understands that at the conclusion of legal proceedings, the primary suspect was sentenced to five years in prison. Her accomplices also received prison sentences. This case serves as a reminder of the potential consequences of misusing social media platforms and violating established laws and societal norms.
