Algiers – The Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport today held a coordination meeting to present a new digital system designed to streamline the management of household and similar waste.
The meeting, overseen by the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Mahmoud Djama, focused on the functionalities and implementation strategy of the digital platform. The pilot program will allow authorities to assess the system’s effectiveness in real-world conditions and make necessary adjustments before full-scale implementation. The Ministry anticipates that the digital platform will enhance coordination between various stakeholders involved in waste management, including local authorities, waste collection companies, and citizens.
By leveraging technology, the Ministry seeks to create a more transparent and accountable waste management system, reducing illegal dumping and promoting responsible waste disposal practices.
