Algiers – Applications are now being accepted for the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program, offering Algerian students the opportunity to pursue higher education in Hungary. The program, announced by the Ministry of Higher Education, is open to outstanding students for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The scholarship targets high-achieving students, specifically the top three students from each major. Eligible applicants must be currently enrolled in the 2025-2026 academic year and meet the following criteria:
- Third-year Bachelor’s (L3) students seeking to pursue a Master’s degree.
- Second-year Master’s (M2) students aiming for a Doctorate (PhD).
Applicants must compile a comprehensive application package in PDF format, adhering to the official guidelines. Required documents include:
- Application form
- Proof of electronic registration on the Stipendium platform
- Selection report copy
- Motivation letter outlining academic goals
- Baccalaureate transcript
- University enrollment certificates relevant to the desired level of study
- Certificate of ranking as a top student
- Student’s star number certificate
- Passport copy
- Passport photo
The deadline for electronic registration on the Stipendium Hungaricum platform is January 15, 2026. Scanned applications, along with the institution’s Excel file, must be submitted electronically by February 1, 2027.
Furthermore, students must submit a copy of their application and the mandatory electronic registration certificate on a CD to the Foreign Relations Department at their university.
Applicants are required to compile all documents into a single PDF file, following the specified order. Submissions must be made exclusively through the official program website: http://www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu/. The electronic registration certificate is a mandatory component of the application.
