Africa-EU Summit Opens in Luanda: Algeria Calls for Joint Security Vision

Luanda, Angola – The 7th Summit between the African Union and the European Union commenced today in Luanda, with high-level participation from leaders and officials from both continents. The summit, held under the theme ‘Strengthening Peace and Prosperity through Multilateral Cooperation,’ aims to address shared challenges and explore opportunities to deepen the partnership between Africa and Europe.

Algeria is represented at the summit’s opening session by the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, representing the President of the Republic.

The two-day summit, taking place on November 24th and 25th, 2025, will focus on discussions surrounding peace, security, and governance in Africa. Participants will exchange views on effective strategies and mechanisms to bolster stability and development, while addressing pressing challenges facing the continent. These challenges include regional security, sustainable development, and the efficiency of multilateral partnerships.
