Gaza Strip – Palestinian rescue teams recovered the bodies of eight individuals from under the rubble of a house in the Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip on Monday. The house was reportedly struck in a previous incident.
According to local sources, all eight victims were members of the same family. Their bodies were recovered from the wreckage of their home, which had been reduced to rubble.
The recovery brings the total number of bodies retrieved since the ceasefire agreement on October 10th to 582. These individuals were recovered from various locations across the Gaza Strip, often from areas heavily impacted by recent events.
Palestinian health authorities reported on Sunday that the overall death toll since the start of the conflict on October 7, 2023, has risen to 69,756, with the majority being children and women. The number of injured has reached 170,946.
The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to deepen as rescue teams struggle to cope with the scale of the devastation. The situation remains dire for the civilian population, who face displacement, lack of access to essential resources, and the constant threat of further violence.
Efforts to provide aid and assistance to the affected population are ongoing, but face significant challenges due to the security situation and logistical constraints. The international community has called for increased humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip and a lasting resolution to the conflict.
