Luanda, Angola – Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral discussions with his Ivorian counterpart, Kakou Houaja Léon Adom, today in Luanda. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 7th African Union-European Union Summit, held in Luanda on November 24th and 25th, 2025.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Algeria and Côte d’Ivoire on a range of issues of mutual interest. The ministers explored avenues for enhancing economic partnerships, promoting cultural exchange, and coordinating efforts on regional security challenges.
The meeting underscores Algeria’s commitment to fostering closer ties with African nations and promoting collective action on the continent. Minister Attaf reiterated Algeria’s unwavering support for African unity and its dedication to addressing the common challenges facing the region, including terrorism, climate change, and economic development.
The discussions also provided an opportunity for the two ministers to exchange views on the ongoing preparations for upcoming African Union events. They emphasized the importance of ensuring the success of these events and leveraging them to advance the African Union’s agenda for peace, security, and prosperity.
