Algiers, November 25, 2025 – Naftec has signed a significant commercial agreement with Italian firm Prometeon to introduce Pirelli tires to the Algerian market. The deal will see 500,000 Pirelli tires, specifically designed for heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses, supplied to meet local demand.
This agreement follows closely on the heels of a previous deal with German manufacturer Continental, marking a dynamic shift in Naftec’s strategy. The company aims to ensure a consistent and plentiful supply of tires for heavy vehicles, crucial for the nation’s transportation and logistics sectors. This initiative is expected to greatly benefit carriers and enhance the overall performance of the national transport fleet.
During the signing ceremony, Naftec’s CEO, Djamel Cherdoud, emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership. He stated that it will enable Naftec to provide the Algerian market with high-quality heavy vehicle tires at competitive prices, ultimately contributing to price reductions and curbing speculative practices. Cherdoud also expressed gratitude to public authorities for entrusting Naftec with the vital task of securing and supplying tires to Algerian citizens, thus supporting the national economy and fulfilling market needs.
Prometeon Group CEO, Yuan Liang, conveyed his pride in partnering with Naftec, recognizing them as a key and strategic partner in the region. He assured that the Pirelli tires supplied would be among the finest and most advanced products manufactured by the group. Liang also presented an overview of Prometeon and its global product offerings.
With this agreement, Naftec reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the national market supply and providing products that meet international standards.
