Cairo, Egypt – Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib arrived in Cairo this morning for an official visit, marking a significant step in strengthening Algerian-Egyptian relations. The visit coincides with the ninth session of the Joint Algerian-Egyptian Higher Committee for Cooperation.
Prime Minister Ghrib was received at Cairo International Airport by his Egyptian counterpart, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, in a welcoming ceremony that underscored the strong ties between the two nations.
This visit follows directives from Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, stemming from President Tebboune’s visit to Cairo last October. The leaders emphasized the need to broaden bilateral cooperation and reinforce the historical bonds between the Algerian and Egyptian people.
The agenda includes the signing of a series of agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering key sectors such as trade, investment, industry, energy, agriculture, transportation, housing, and vocational training. A new roadmap is also expected to be developed to enhance economic and developmental partnerships, aligning with the aspirations of both leaderships.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation, including:
- Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation: Said Saioud
- Minister of Finance: Abdelkrim Boualzered
- Minister of Industry: Yahia Bachir
- Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries: Yassine Oualid
- Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies: Mourad Adjal
- Minister of Housing, Urban Planning, and the City: Mohamed Tarek Belaribi
- Minister of Vocational Training and Education: Errab Nessima
This visit represents a renewed commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and building a strong strategic partnership between Algeria and Egypt across various vital sectors. This event is viewed as an important milestone in the ongoing development of relations between the two countries.
