Algeria’s Deep Concern for Palestinian Rights

Algeria remains steadfast in its belief that the Zionist colonial occupation lies at the heart of the Arab-Israeli conflict. Putting an end to the suffering and tragedies arising from this conflict undoubtedly hinges on upholding the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people.

Algeria has expressed its profound concern over the escalating and barbaric Zionist aggressions against the Gaza Strip, which have claimed the lives of numerous innocent Palestinians. The country calls upon the international community to take immediate action through relevant international bodies to shield the Palestinian people from the brutality and criminality of the Zionists. This was conveyed in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Overseas Community on Saturday.

“Algeria closely follows with deep concern the escalating and barbaric Zionist aggressions against the Gaza Strip, which have led to the loss of innocent Palestinian children, who have become martyrs in the face of the obstinacy of the Zionist occupation in its policy of oppression and persecution imposed on the valiant Palestinian people,” the statement reads.

Algeria “strongly condemns these policies and practices that run counter to the most basic human principles and international legality,” the same source adds.

The country “once again calls upon the international community to intervene immediately through the relevant international bodies to protect the Palestinian people from the brutality and criminality, which have become the trademark of the Zionist occupation of Palestinian territories,” underscores the statement.

Algeria remains convinced that the Zionist colonial occupation is “at the heart of the Arab-Israeli conflict” and that “putting an end to the suffering and tragedies arising from this conflict undoubtedly hinges on upholding the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of their independent state within the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital,” concludes the same source.
