Former Algerian international Rafik Saïfi has tipped the Algerian national team as the frontrunners to win the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025. Saïfi expressed his confidence in the team’s capabilities to retain the title.
Speaking on the ‘Locker Room’ program on Al Kass TV, Saïfi stated, “I see Algeria as the closest to winning the Arab Cup, and God willing, the team will retain its title.”
He further elaborated, “We have a strong team. Some names may change, but with the same technical staff remaining, I wish coach Madjid Bougherra all the best. There are strong teams in the tournament, such as the host nation, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Jordan, but Algeria has a team capable of going far in the competition.”
Saïfi concluded by wishing all the participating teams success, adding, “God willing, the title will be Algeria’s.” His endorsement highlights the high expectations surrounding the Algerian squad as they prepare for the prestigious tournament. Algeria’s recent performances have solidified their position as a formidable force in Arab football. The team’s blend of experienced players and emerging talents makes them a serious contender for the coveted trophy. The support from legends like Saïfi further boosts the team’s morale and confidence.
The FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 promises to be a thrilling competition, with several strong teams vying for the title. However, Saïfi’s belief in Algeria’s potential underscores the nation’s ambition to continue its success on the regional stage.
